Can I be the first to wish everyone a Happy Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, which this year starts on the 21st December (make a note of that)?, I made the fatal error, of mentioning Christmas to the youngest the other day, and within a couple of minutes, out came the Argos catalogue and he had started making "THE LIST". "THE LIST" must the two most dreaded words in the English language, unless anyone knows any different?

The words "I WANT" and "I NEED" fill me with dread!
Especially when the littlies are looking in the Argos book at rubbish plastic Power Ranger figures and crappy over priced games with far too many bits and pieces in that get strewn all over the house!

What ever happened to the true meaning of Christmas?
I've said to all three of mine, that if they want presents this year, we have to cut back on the heating and electricity bills, so guess what they will be getting from their grandmother, THE HAND MADE PULLOVER (There you go there is another four dredded words in the English Language). Instead of putting the heating on, its going to be another layer of pullovers.
I onder whatever happened to that Aran pullover my grandmother knitted for me, I wonder, if like the presents with batteries, it never made it past Boxing day? I'm sure I hid it at the back of a cupboard somewhere..
